GREAT SCOTTISH SCIENTIST RECOGNISED BY PARLIAMENT

Mark Lazarowicz, Labour MP for Edinburgh North & Leith, has won widespread backing for his Parliamentary Motion commemorating the 175th Anniversary of the Birth of the great Scottish scientist, James Clerk Maxwell. James Clerk Maxwell’s birthplace at India Street is situated in the Edinburgh North & Leith constituency, and is now the HQ of the James Clerk Maxwell Foundation.

Mark Lazarowicz said: “James Clerk Maxwell’s contribution to science is recognised the world over. I hope that my motion will help to increase awareness of his work, both in Scotland and the UK, and further afield.”
